Tri Angle/4AD/Paw Tracks [Global Fuckery/Witch House]

Where: PS1 – 2225 Jackson Ave, Long Island City, Queens [MAP]
When: Saturday, August 13, 2011, 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Cost: $15 for adults; free for MoMA members.

Sounds this moody seem a bit out of place in the optimistic public design of the PS1 courtyard on a bright Saturday afternoon. But perhaps a dose of Vitamin D and exposure to new urban ideas might do this crowd some good. Of course, we kid. A bit. There’s obviously more nuance to the sounds of indie label 4AD, Animal Collective’s Paw Tracks, and the massively influential Tri Angle Records. Take for example Ayshay, who we just covered on the blog. Her sound tempers this theme of bleakness with perseverance and understanding. Lots of local talent here, too.
