Indie Rock will be the New Alternative - a Genre that no Longer Fits the Definition of the Word

MYSPACE Profile: Twilight Showdow

There’s only one song worth discussing on my man’s profile, The Twilight Showdown. The stand out song here is I Shot Your Lover Dead. While it’s what I’ve come to expect as your standard Indie rock electronic crossover - a simple set of sounds, basically elctro revival, with a touch of that wannabe Clash shit - it is interesting enough to listen to. He has a wide span of short melodies that fit comfortably together in an enjoyable rhythm. It’s basement as hell, though, and could use a little polishing: there’s a couple melodies in there that fall flat, and homeboy could use some singing lessons. In fact, his singing is the biggest turn off, his style is grating and whiny, but I guess that comes with the genre. One plus is that its up for download, so give it a spin - oh, and check out his crowd… (embarrassing.)
