An album I think everybody slept on is Secret Frequency Crew’s Underwater Adventure EP (Electronic/Downbeat/Experimental).
Listen to Aqua, and then on a darker tip Deep Blue. *Exerpts.*
The album manages to take a serious hip hop inflence, and blend it with some ambient synths, and bumps a variety of melodies. It’s made up a huge catalouge of sampled noises, used in an ingenious manner, and as the album name implies, drops shit on that aquatic-ness. The cut Aqua, is like relaxing on the beach while soft waves break on your warm body, and your girl’s water dropped lips hover so close to your own that you can taste her cinnamon breath. Deep Blue is like an exploration of a deep water necropolis that, at 40 seconds - when that bass drops - suddenly turns dangerous.
Everyone who knows me knows that I push this joint every chance I get.
